ZenMonkey (“ZenMonkey”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a mindfulness and meditation practice app developed by iiisle Studio.
This Privacy Policy explains how ZenMonkey handles information when you use the ZenMonkey app, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By using ZenMonkey, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Overview
ZenMonkey is designed to help users:
- track mindfulness and meditation practice
- record session duration and type
- reflect after practice with calmness ratings and notes
- review practice history and statistics
- optionally connect with Apple platform services such as Apple Health and iCloud
We aim to collect and use as little data as reasonably necessary to provide the product experience.
2. Information We Collect
ZenMonkey may collect or process the following categories of information depending on how you use the app.
2.1 Information You Create in the App
When you use ZenMonkey, you may create and store:
- meditation or mindfulness session records
- session start time and duration
- practice type (such as sitting, walking, or other)
- calmness / reflection ratings after a session
- personal notes or reflections you choose to enter
- app preferences and settings
This information is used to provide your practice history, reflection experience, and statistics.
2.2 Device and App Usage Information
ZenMonkey may process limited technical information needed to operate the app, such as:
- app settings and local preferences
- device-level functionality required for Apple platform integrations
- basic diagnostic or crash-related information made available through Apple systems
We do not use ZenMonkey to build advertising profiles about you.
2.3 Analytics and Diagnostics
To improve the stability and experience of ZenMonkey, we may use third-party analytics services (such as Firebase Analytics) to collect anonymous app usage information, including:
- Basic app usage
- Feature usage
- Crash and performance information
- Device and system version information
This data is not used for advertising, cross-app tracking, or identifying you personally.
2.4 Purchase and Subscription Information
If ZenMonkey offers paid features or subscriptions, purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.
We do not directly collect or store your full payment card details.
We may receive limited purchase-related status information from Apple, such as whether a subscription is active, in order to unlock paid features.
3. Health and Wellness Data
This section is important.
ZenMonkey may integrate with Apple Health / HealthKit if you choose to grant permission.
3.1 What Health-Related Data May Be Used
Depending on current app features and your permissions, ZenMonkey may:
- write mindfulness or meditation-related session data to Apple Health
- access health-related data that you explicitly authorize through Apple Health
Examples may include:
- mindful minutes / mindfulness session data
- wellness-related session metadata that supports your practice tracking experience
ZenMonkey only accesses Health data if you explicitly allow it through Apple’s permission controls.
3.2 How Health Data Is Used
If authorized, Health-related data may be used to:
- record your meditation or mindfulness sessions
- display your practice history and statistics
- support wellness-related features inside the app
- improve your personal practice tracking experience
3.3 What We Do Not Do With Health Data
ZenMonkey does not use Health data to:
- serve third-party advertising
- create advertising profiles
- sell your health-related information
- share your health-related information with data brokers
Health-related data is handled only for the purpose of providing and improving ZenMonkey’s user experience.
3.4 Non-Medical Use Disclaimer
ZenMonkey is a mindfulness and wellness support tool.
ZenMonkey is not a medical app and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical recommendations.
Any information, feedback, or statistics shown in ZenMonkey are intended for personal wellness and reflection purposes only.

4. How We Use Information
We use information processed by ZenMonkey to:
- create and save your practice sessions
- show your session history and statistics
- let you record calmness ratings and personal notes
- support Apple Health integrations (if enabled)
- support iCloud sync and multi-device continuity (if enabled)
- improve app stability, reliability, and user experience
- provide customer support if you contact us
We try to keep ZenMonkey focused and lightweight. That means we avoid collecting unnecessary information whenever possible.
5. Sync, Storage, and iCloud
ZenMonkey is designed primarily around Apple platform experiences.
5.1 Local Storage
Your ZenMonkey data may be stored locally on your device to provide:
- practice history
- settings
- notes
- reflection data
- session statistics
5.2 iCloud Sync
If iCloud sync is enabled in the app or supported by your device configuration, some ZenMonkey data may be synchronized through Apple iCloud to help keep your data available across your Apple devices.
This may include:
- session records
- notes
- calmness ratings
- related app data needed for continuity
iCloud data handling is also subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.
We do not control Apple’s infrastructure or policies for iCloud services.
6. Third-Party Services and Platform Providers
ZenMonkey may rely on Apple platform services to provide parts of the app experience.
These may include:
- Apple Health / HealthKit
- Apple iCloud
- Apple App Store / In-App Purchases
- Apple system-level analytics or diagnostics (if made available through Apple tools)
ZenMonkey does not intentionally include third-party advertising networks for behavior-based advertising.
If additional third-party services are added in the future, this Privacy Policy may be updated accordingly.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not sell your health-related information.
We may share limited information only in the following situations:
7.1 With Apple Platform Services
When necessary to support features you choose to use, such as:

Because much of ZenMonkey’s functionality may rely on:

- Apple Health
- iCloud
retention may also depend on:
- your device settings
- your Apple account configuration
- whether you delete the app or associated synced data
9. Your Choices and Controls
You control many aspects of your ZenMonkey data experience.
9.1 Apple Health Permissions
You can grant, deny, or revoke Apple Health access at any time through your Apple device settings.
9.2 iCloud Settings
You can manage iCloud availability and sync behavior through your Apple account and device settings.
9.3 In-App Data
You may be able to delete or reset certain app data within ZenMonkey, depending on available app features.
9.4 App Deletion
Deleting ZenMonkey from your device may remove locally stored app data from that device, but synced or externally stored data may remain subject to Apple platform behavior and your account settings.
10. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to help protect the information used by ZenMonkey.
However, no method of storage, transmission, or digital security is ever guaranteed to be 100% secure.
By using ZenMonkey, you acknowledge that:
- no app can guarantee absolute security
- device security and Apple account security also affect your data protection
We recommend keeping your Apple devices, Apple ID, and operating system protected and up to date.
11. Children’s Privacy
ZenMonkey is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law in your region to provide valid consent for data processing without parental involvement.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
If you believe a child has provided information inappropriately, please contact us and we will review the matter.
12. International Use
ZenMonkey may be used in different countries and regions.
If you use ZenMonkey outside the country where iiisle Studio operates, your use of Apple platform services (such as iCloud, Apple Health, and App Store services) may also be subject to the laws and data practices applicable in your region.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we may update the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the app or website.
Your continued use of ZenMonkey after changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
